After tireless efforts by the Kisii University students' union, the institution has finally allowed all students who had paid 3/4 of their semester fees to sit for examinations. The secretary general of the students' union Mr. Duke Gwaro announced on Saturday that they held a profound meeting with the department where it was agreed that all students were required to pay at least 3/4 of the fees to be allowed for the examinations.
"We had a meeting with the university management and the 75% rule for fee payment has been approved, comrades can now take exams," said Gwaro.
The university through the exam cards collection department had earlier issued a notice that all students were supposed to clear their semester fees before being issued examination cards.
Communication from the dean of students' office stated that first year students who had not received their HELB loans will also be allowed to sit for examinations.
