According to them, majority of the students cannot access secondary education as it is not affordable.

They urged the area MP to mobilize more funds for the sake of those students who finished form four but have since remained at home as they cannot access college.

Nyando constituency is one of the seven constituencies in the larger Kisumu County, and It is among those constituencies with a high poverty index.

The students claim that much of the CDF allocations in the constituency is spent on frivolous pursuits at the expense of education and health sectors which are equally important.

Dennis Onyango,  a parent who has a child in form two is slamming the legislator for not taking education matters seriously.

"We urge the MP to double CDF allocations on education so that our children can access education," he said at Nyando on Friday.

His sentiments got a receptive ear as Paul Ochieng who is also from the locality urged the lawmaker to take education matters seriously.

His plea to Mr Outa is that he looks for funds from the CDF kit to enable form four leavers to be trained in a bid to give the youth technical skills.
