Students have continued trooping the Kenya National Library in Nakuru town for private studies as the nationwide teachers strike entered its second week this morning.
According to the library’s ICT officer, Joseph Olala, majority of students have decide to make good use of the facility as they await for return of teachers in schools.
Speaking on phone this morning, Olala said that majority of students studying at the government library are high school students especially those who will be sitting for their final national exams this year.
“Since last week the place has been busy and the place is full to capacity with students spending their time in books. Most of them are this year’s candidates who have realised the importance of starting early preparations even in the absence of their teachers,” he said.
The officer added that they expect even more students should the strike persist.
“Should the strike persist then we are expecting more and more students to turn up for their private studies," he said.
Olala said that they are doing all they can to offer the necessary support to all the students seeking help at the facility.
Last week Nakuru county education CeC had called on students to stop idling in town but instead use the library to study on their own.
