Garissa university students have called upon the county government and national government to step up security in the region.
They say with the trend of the latest attacks, they are worried that there might be another attack like that one that rocked the Garissa University College.
“Security in Garissa seems to be deteriorating instead of beefing up which is a reason to worry. We are now worried about our safety especially when such attacks occur like yesterday’s where officers were attacked,” said Mercy Wanjiku.
They say as much as the outskirts of Garissa is not safe they too are not assured of their safety.
“With the recent attacks, there is need to worry. We do not know where next will they hit. We beg and call upon our government to protect us by beefing up security,” said Joy Mimo.
They claim such attacks raise tension and cause fear among the healing students.
“A number of students were traumatised during that attack at the varsity. We want an environment that is peaceful,’’ said Gilbert Boswony.
