College students have been challenged to avoid rampant alcohol taking in order to focus on their careers.
Speaking on Tuesday at Kisumu Polytechnic at youth’s awareness creation forum, Rural Gender Sociologist Florence Atera challenged college students not to take much of their valuable time in engaging in misplaced priorities like alcohol drinking as it was killing their reputation.
She further noted that alcohol taking was so rampant in college going students that instead wasted their valuable time, urging them to focus on their studies as it was a path way to various avenues.
“Use most of your time to engage on valuable issues and never take much of your time in alcohol taking, this will make you productive in the society” said Atera.
Atera added that college going students needed to use their time in a more proper way, and not indulging on issues that would affect their studies.
Kisumu Youths Awareness Creation Officer Ronnie Omondi also noted the youths needed to focus by engaging on issues that would add value in their life.
According to Omondi, most of the college youths got into bad peer groupings that lead them into rampant alcohol taking.
“Let us get responsible by avoiding getting influenced on wrong deeds like overindulging in alcohol taking,” said Omondi.
