Students pursuing Medical science program from Maseno University are a worried lot after the Kenya Medical Board called for closure of the program citing lack of adequate teaching and learning material.
Medical students from Maseno have expressed their fears terming this as an end to their career.
"It is so unfortunate that a course I have been studying for the last three years with a motive of graduating and moving on to chase my dreams has now been rendered invalid.
"The administration has to intervene and sort out this issue with immediate effect. We cannot waste our time and resources for all those years without achieving what brought us here," Nikki Wanjiru a 4th year student taking the above mentioned course expressed.
If the medical science program in the Institution is closed as instructed by the Kenya Medical Board then it means the affected students are to pursue the same course from a different Institution which has sufficient teaching and learning materials or shift to another course in the institution.
The students explained that they did not expect such from Maseno as it is one of the prominent universities in the country and wanted urgent intervention into the matter by the administration.
"Maseno University is a big institution that has been on it's feet for years now. We really don't expect such incidences happening in an institution of our Caliber. The administration should intervene into the matter with urgency," Michael Onyango a 2nd year student added on.
