This comes after yet another random theft on Sunday night left a number of them in shock after losing properties worth thousands of shillings.

According to victims, suspected thugs descended in their hostels unnoticed in late night and escaped with several valuables ranging from computers, smart phones and cooking gas among others.

“They are using a new style since no violence is used. They are using a certain magic to steal because many of us are caught unaware. I am sure that at least one of the victims would have recognised them,” said John Wekesa who lost a laptop.

He said some students had also lost essential documents such as academic projects that were saved in their electronic gadgets.

“What is so astonishing is not even losing a laptop. A friend of mine lost a laptop containing a project that is due to be submitted next month,” he said.

They asked Mutsya to ensure the area was secured by police officers since security was deteriorating in the region.

“This isn’t the first time thieves are raiding here. We call upon the police boss to do something before we respond. We are in fact giving the police one week to recover our belongings before we organize demos,” said Joash Nyagaka another victim.
