Former Tinderet MP and Cabinet Minister Henry Kosgey has cautioned farmers in the Rift Valley region against much subdivision of their land, saying that it affects production.
Kosgey has said that sub-division of land into much smaller pieces in the name of individual ownership is not economical and good for production, especially in such an area where farmers practice cash and food crop farming.
He instead advised residents to farm their lands wholesomely, and sub-divide the returns among themselves.
"It makes more sense for those with small portions of land to leave them as they are farm together and divide the harvest when it comes in,” said Kosgey.
The former powerful KANU Minister, who was speaking in Kesses Constituency on Sunday during a fund drive at St. Michael Catholic Church where he gave a personal contribution of Sh500,000, also asked the North Rift leaders to work together to bring development in the area.
Others in attendance include Kesses MP James Bett, Former Eldoret South MP David Koros and various MCAs.
