In Kisii county, the nurses assembled at the Gusii green stadium and in solidarity with the doctors they said they are not going to provide any medical services until their cry is heard.

Nancy Midogo who is the treasurer of the Kisii Nurses Association said that they are passing through many challenges which cannot allow them to keep their mouths shut.

She claimed that in most of the health facilities, the subordinate staff are paid more than even the doctors and nurses.

''I am very much aware that subordinate staff in my place of work are paid twice more than nurses that is why some of them even beat us up knowing that they can get good lawyers in court with the money and allowances they get," said Midogo.

She added that some clerks are paid as much as Sh16,000 as compared to the nurses who are qualified but paid an amount of Sh9,600 with a peanut size house allowance.
