Subukia MCA Njoroge Mwenje has urged residents living near feeder roads to cut down road side trees to pave way for road expansion.
Speaking on Wednesday at Kahiga village, Subukia Ward during a development tour, Mwenje said road infrastructure is key to development.
“Good roads will help farmers to easily access market for their products,” notes Mwenje.
Mwenje said that to achieve development goals in Subukia Ward he has initiated a progamme to upgrade all feeder roads to enable farmers access markets on time.
“I will upgrade all feeder roads in the ward; for easier transport of goods from the farm to the market,” said Mwenje.
He revealed that the county government is exploring alternative and effective technologies to improve road network in the county.
The ward leader called on all residents who have grabbed road reserves to stick to their demarcation points to allow upgrading of the roads .
“I urge residents who have grabbed road reserves to surrender it,” said Mwenje.
Mwenje also said that he is working with county government to improve lives of residents through enhanced service delivery.
