Speaking to the press after meeting youth and women groups on Saturday, the MP complained that most roads in the constituency are in poor condition.

He said that there is urgent need for the Nakuru government to renovate and construct roads.

“I wonder why the Nakuru government is taking too long to renovate our roads, I have several times reminded the county of poor infrastructure in Subukia,” said the MP.

Gaichuhie noted that poor road network has hampered movement of people in the process slowing down development.

He added that most roads have been rendered impassable due to heavy rains being experienced.

The MP also asked the county government to dig trenches and proper drainage systems to curb cases of flooding.

He noted that drainage system is  also in a sorry state saying that rain water always find its way to homes and shops within Subukia town.

Last week bodaboda operators at Subukia town complained over the poor roads and called for action.

The operators claimed that poor roads have slowed down their work as heavy rains continue to be experienced.

Speaking to the media last week, County Roads Executive Joel Maina said the government is in the process of finalising all road repairs.

He noted that various roads have been earmarked for repairs across the 11 sub counties.

The executive said that the process has been slowed down by heavy rains adding that it will resume when rains subsidize. Maina said renovation of roads will be completed by the end of this financial year.
