President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his displeasure over the conditions of roads in Subukia.

Speaking to residents on Saturday after attending a peace mass organized by the counsel of catholic bishops at the Marian Subukia National Shrine, the head of state promised action.

“The roads in Subukia are in a deplorable condition. The poor roads are an obstacle to farming activities that you undertake. You have fertile lands and therefore need good roads to farm well. I have seen by myself and will not want anybody to tell me about what needs to be done,” The President told a cheering crowd.

Uhuru further promised that the government will lay tarmac on the road heading to the Marian Subukia National Shrine as well as fast track rehabilitation of other existing road networks in the area.

“In the next one month, we will begin tarmacking the road to the Shrine,” he said.
