Most people are industrious by nature in Kenya, far too many people have attempted business. Even those employed, many of them have some “side hustle.
Sadly, some statistics suggest that up to 90% businesses fail in sub-Sahara Africa. At times the wounds of failed business are sore, some pains unbearable and in some cases, the price and consequences of failed business have grossly interrupted lifestyles.
Success conversation begins with finding your place. Finding yourself through what you do. The art of creating yourself. Success requires you pursue something you are very passionate about. Finding something that drives you at the heart level. Something you can pursue with childlike wonder.
Trying too many things at the same time. Spreading too thin because you don’t trust or understand the impact of focus. The primary motivation for launching too many projects is fear of failure. Lack of absolute believe in what one is doing. Inability to trust yourself and your own ideas. True success follows mastering your work.
You can’t afford a broad strategy on a startup budget. What makes start-ups succeed is their ability to quickly pivot, and lack of focus leads to an inability to make the necessary adjustments. Don’t make the mistake of expanding your business into too many verticals. Before you enter new markets make sure you maximize your existing market.
Many people give up at the slightest pressure because they venture into businesses which are not passionate about and expect overnight success. They expect quick wins and when success seems not forthcoming as fast as expected, they begin to faint. They falter on their vision.
The art of business reveals the relationship between man and his environment. But business is also a science because it involves universal principles and procedures that can be learned by each of us.
Each one of us was designed for greatness. Success is not for the chosen few. Success is in your DNA. Winning ought to be your signature. Victory is in your custom design. Refuse to be defined by failure. The hour has come you declare war against failure. Walk down the lane of victory, success, and greatness. This is where you belong. This is your predetermined inheritance.
