A high powered government delegation from Sudan is on a six-day visit to Kenya to facilitate their government's Social Protection Learning and Sharing Exchange from March 20 to 25.

The delegation will lean how the government offers support to the orphans, vulnerable children, people living with disabilities, older persons and about cash transfers as well as the operations of the hunger safety network programme.

The delegation will experience and learn from various National Social Protection (SP) and Safety Net Programme stakeholders in the country. 

The delegation will also meet the CS, Ministry of Labour and Social Services and the CS Ministry of Devolution and Planning; the Social Protection Secretariat, the Department for Social Development, the National Council for people with disability, the children’s department all of which fall under the Labour ministry. 

The first day is dedicated to the Ministry of Labour.  Day 2 for a visit to Muranga county. Thereafter (day 3) the delegation will pay a visit to the CS, Ministry of Devolution and Planning Mwangi Kiunjuri and the National Drought Management Authority.

The exchange visit, organised by the HelpAge International Sudan and Kenya offices, will involve one-to-one meetings, interviews and dialogue with the key stakeholders, beneficiaries from all counties, Rights Committees and staff of HelpAge International in Nairobi, Muranga and Turkana counties.
