More than 100 Sudanese nationals met at Shabaab Grounds on Sunday to pray for Burundi an the on going war that has been happening over the past three months.
They also appealed to the Burundian President Pierre Nkuruzinza to be careful in the way he operates saying it could get more disastrous.
“We know what the war costs us in our country and we have paid the price heftily. We are appealing to the president to ensure that he brings peace in the country at all costs,” said Idris Yanky.
He added that the bloodshed that was going on in the country was worrying.
“This needs to stop. Many people have died and it could get worse,” he added.
Esther Garang added that many the country will feel the effects of the war many years later.
“The president should be more careful on how he is operating otherwise they will pay up to the third generation like we are currently suffering,” she added.
She called on the Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta to mediate for peace in the area.
“Kenya was very vital when it came to the peace in our country. Uhuru should lead the way in fostering and brokering peace in the area,” she added.
Peter Abuk added that they were also ready to share their experiences with Burundi nationals.
