Sudi spoke yesterday during a local church harambee in the Kesses constituency. He lamented last week's events when the University of Eldoret was led by the area senator Isaac Melly in protests that involved confrontations with the Police.

"We can resolve issues peacefully without necessarily calling for protests. At the same time don't use excessive force to quell the dissenting voices,” said Sudi.

The MP noted that it was becoming commonplace for political leaders to ask for demonstrations as a method of disapproving the leadership of their rivals.

“There are various avenues to address issues, especially those that affect us and our electorates without resorting to violence,” Sudi said.

James Bett, the area MP echoed Sudi's sentiments by asking leaders in Uasin Gishu County to stay united for the benefit of their people.

"Squabbles and daily political bickering won't bring the much needed development to our people,” said Bett.
