Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has promised to lead a dialogue between Uasin Gishu government and Eldoret hawkers to end the tension between them.

He said it is only dialogue that will end the stalemate.

“I am not happy with what is happening in Eldoret town that is why I want to find a permanent solution to this problem once and for all. We want everyone to conduct business harmoniously without interference from the county government,” he said in Eldoret town, Monday.

“As leaders from this region, we will meet with hawker’s leaders in the course of the week and find ways of solving this matter. I also urge hawkers to comply with the law this will help solve confrontations that have recently been witnessed between county askaris and hawkers,” he added.

He, however, warned residents against politicizing the matter by branding it as tribal that is targeting one tribe since they did not vote for governor Jackson Mandago.

“Let us not view it as politics but county operation aimed at cleaning the town,” noted Sudi.
