According to them, about six people have lost their lives in separate incidents by committing suicides after having a quarrel with their husbands or fathers.

On Saturday, a young woman was reported to have committed suicide after having quarrelled with her husband over an alleged infidelity by the husband.

“Suicide cases in Bosamaro are almost becoming a norm and if we do not address the issue, many people will loose their lives. We have buried at least six people in the past one month from suicides related cases,” said Susan Ombwori area resident.

She claimed that men should take responsibility because, according to most of them, women and children are the victims.

“Some of the reported cases are as a result of infidelity from men and lack of commitment by the same men to their own families,” added Ombwori.

They however, asked women to seek guidance and counselling from qualified individuals before taking a decision to take their own lives.

“It is regrettable that our fellow women and children will continue dying because their husbands and fathers either cheat or mistreat them,” said Alice Orang’i another resident.

They urged the county government to deploy qualified psychologist to sub-county levels so that they can handle family cases before the situation escalates to suicides.
