Shahbal says that claims doing round that he has ‘hanged’ his political boots are misleading.
In an interview with the star, the businessman who ran for the Mombasa top seat on a Jubilee ticket said that he is not retiring from politics any time soon.
He told his supporters to be firm and active saying that he will engage in other issues relating to politics.
“I am not hanging my political boots as being speculated on social media,” the businessman said as quoted by the Star.
Shahbal however revealed that he is authoring a book on his ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ in politics.
The businessman said that the book will be out soon. “The book focuses on the experiences and reflection of the 2013 and 2017 general election,” he said.
Shahbal unsuccessfully contested for the Mombasa governor seat in 2013 and 2017 losing out to Hassan Joho.
Shahbal had been tipped by political analysts to unseat Joho in the recently concluded polls but that did not happen as Joho retained his seat on ODM ticket.
There are speculations that Shahbal is among Jubilee losers who could be handed lucrative o offer by Jubilee government.
