In a statement on Facebook, the opposition party member said that Raila and Kalonzo are held together due to ideological similarities which are geared towards changing the country.

"Raila did not disown the MOU with Hon Kalonzo at all. If anything he reaffirmed it and said the pair is a winning team and he does not see why a winning team should be changed," he said.

"What has kept Raila and Kalonzo together since the 2013 election is not the MoU but the ideologies and desire to change this country and make Kenya a better country for all citizens," he added.

He underscored that Kenya must be administered by Cord administration from 2017 citing that the flag bearer does not matter most.

"Elections in Kenya are won in the last two months to the election date and it does not matter at all who is the candidate but one thing that must happen is that the next administration in Kenya must be formed by CORD," the statement further read.

On Monday, Cord general secretary Ababu Namwamba said that Raila was the fit candidate with the ability to remove Uhuru administration from office.
