A private developer next to Suneka Airstrip has been given an evacuation notice by the Kisii County Government.
According to the Kisii County executive for Public Works and Transport, Skitta Ocharo, they have been directed by National Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) Michael Kamau to order him to evacuate.
In a statement, the CS said they have already verified that the land which is being developed belongs to the county government and was set aside for the airstrip expansion long time ago.
"The notice given is enough for the developer to evacuate since he does not have legal documents to claim the land," said Ocharo.
Ocharo added the county is on right track to recover the land that was grabbed by private developers and they expect to gazette the total number of land gained.
"The airstrip renovation won't stop because the developer has agreed to move and we look forward for the construction to be completed on time," added Ocharo
