The national government has set some measures of upgrading Suneka Airstrip as one way of expanding the transport sector in the area.
According to the Deputy President William Ruto, the national government has set aside 50 million shillings which will be used in the upgrading of the Airstrip.
Addressing leaders and residents at Iterio Lutheran church Kisii county On Sunday during the fundraising the deputy president said that they have set some resources which will help to upgrade the Airstrip.
“We have put aside 50 million shillings which will help in the upgrading the Airstrip so that we can improve the transport sector in this region,” said the Deputy President.
Ruto's sentiments come after the leaders from Kisii county Led by the county governor James Ongwae urged the national government to help in upgrading the Airstrip.
Ongwae who also attended the function said that if the Airstrip is upgraded it will help the county more so in the transport sector as it can be used by many in the region.
“Once the Airstrip is upgraded we are sure that it will boost the economy of this county since we will have more visitors who can make our county grow economically,” said Ongwae.
