It is a big relief for Garissa motorists as the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Thursday announced a drop in the fuel prices.
A litre of super petrol has now been lowered by sh4.87 but diesel and kerosene costs are slightly higher following the April 2016 review of petroleum pump prices This means that the cut on cost of petrol per litre retails from sh85.28 in Garissa, but the price of diesel per litre is sh70.80 and that of kerosene is sh48.53.
On the other hand, pump prices contrast in other parts of the country, depending on the distance from Mombasa port since transport cost is included.
According to the regulator, the effect will take place from 15th April 2016 to 14th May 2016.
