While condemning the killing of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT manager Christopher Msando, Salat urged the national government to move with speed and unravel culprits behind the murder.

“Our appeal is to the government to provide and enhance security for IEBC officials and other state officers involved in election preparedness,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

Salat also urged the government to beef up security across the country. He said that the government has a duty to ensure its citizens are safe before, during and after the polls.

He urged Kenyans to embrace peace and unity before, during and after the Tuesday polls.  Salat said that the August 8 will come and but the country’s peace and unity must remain.
