Addressing hundreds of bodaboda operators from Kisumu East sub-county during the official opening of bodaboda shades built at Mamboleo, Gita and Guba junctions, John Anditi, who vied for Kisumu East parliamentary seat in the last general election urged leaders to source for investors who can expand the sector.

Anditi lamented that bodaboda operators have been sidelined in terms of development and empowerment, forcing some of them to engage in illegal activities like robbery.

Anditi said that youths are the majority in the society, hence should be promoted economically for development agenda to be achieved.

He on that note requested the ministry of transport to recognize the bodaboda sector as one of the major contributor in terms of revenue collection in the transport industry.

He urged Kisumu County government to partner with other stakeholders in the transport sector with an aim of training the bodaboda riders and helping them in getting necessary documents like driving licenses.

Anditi argued that this is the only way of curbing road carnage, which is becoming rampant in the bodaboda sector.
