Former Kisumu County Assembly majority leader Samuel Ong’ou has maintained that he will work with Governor Jack Ranguma.
Ong’ou said Ranguma is initiating development projects across the county and he would not abandon him in that pursuit.
"Many people have been asking me why I am sticking with Ranguma. I am telling them I stand for development," he said.
The MCA for Masogo/Nyangoma Ward said the people of Kisumu want development and not what he called cheap politics from detractors.
“Ranguma is for development and I will stick with him. Some people want me to abandon Ranguma and support them in 2017, I have declined,” he said.
Speaking on Friday in his ward during a funds drive for women groups, Ong’ou hailed Ranguma as a leader with a vision for the county.
His Kolwa East counterpart, Osumba Olum alleged that there are forces to kick some people out of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Olum who is still fighting to remain the ODM chairman in Kisumu East constituency says there are some politicians who are dictating terms in the party.
He said Raila Odinga is the legitimate party leader as he dismissed other politicians who he says feel they own the party.
“I only recognise one party leader who is Raila Odinga, not any other elected leader. I have my choice for 2017 for Kisumu County Governor and I will not be intimidated,” he said.
