Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has asked NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and his Ford Kenya's counterpart Moses Wetangula to support Kalonzo Musyoka's presidential bid.
Kibwana urged the duo to rally the Luhya community behind the Wiper leader in 2022 polls.
He said Kalonzo will ascend to the top seat in 2022 polls if he has the Luhya and other communities' backing.
According to Kibwana, Kalonzo is the most suitable candidate to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“We are asking our brothers Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, and other leaders across the country to support Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid when the time comes because he has the qualities to succeed President Kenyatta,” Kibwana said.
The Makueni county boss governor said that Kalonzo has the political experience to lead the country.
He said that the former Vice president diplomatic experience will be a plus in terms of addressing challenges facing the country if he is elected in 2022.
Kibwana said time has come for Kenyans to look beyond tribes and elect a president who has the experience and desire to serve the country.
He is among Kamba politicians spearheading Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.
On Sunday, Kalonzo together with Mudavadi and Wetangula met at AIC church in Athi River, Mavoko sub-county where they called for unity ahead of 2022 elections.
Kalonzo is among the politicians who have declared their interests for the country's top seat in 2022.
However, the Wiper leader's chances of being supported by ODM party leader Raila Odinga as per their agreement in 2017 seems to be diminishing with claims that the former Prime Minister could also bid for the same seat when the time comes.
