Residents of Kangundo sub county have been urged to support women who want to vie for elective seats.
This was said on Thursday by Kangundo parliamentary seat aspirant Rose Wambua in Kangundo town. She said that women are slowly being left behind in leadership and it's worrying. Wambua blamed lack of funding and support for women aspiring to be leaders as the reason for women shying off from vying for seats.
She asked residents to shun off from the myth that women cannot be leaders and that her place is in the kitchen.
She advised residents to consider giving women a chance to lead as they can also perform well or much better than their male counterparts.
