City lawyer Edwin Sifuna warns that National Super Alliance could disintegrate should co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka fail to appreciate the role of ODM in the coalition.

NASA is yet to announce its flag bearer, with leaked information indicating that ODM leader Raila Odinga was the most preferred by the technical committee, a move that has led to anxiety within the opposition coalition.

And Sifuna, vibrant ODM members now accuses the two principals of failing to ‘understand’ Kenya’s contemporary politics.

“Mudavadi and Kalonzo should stop giving us ultimatums. They know well that only Raila commands a huge following that can help us beat Jubilee,” he wrote on his Facebook wall.

“They should know that without ODM, NASA will be nothing. We are senior coalition partners and that must remain in their minds. They have no option other than supporting us,” added Sifuna.

Both Kalonzo and Mudavadi had maintained that the collation had not settled on a candidate and demanded that ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani withdraw her statements publically.

In the leaked lineup by technical committee, Mudavadi would serve as Chief Minister while Musyoka would be Odinga’s running mate should NASA win.
