Labour Party leader Ababu Namwamba has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure Pan-Paper Mills is fully operational, saying this would provide job opportunities to the locals.
Speaking during a rally at Muliro Gardens in Webuye, Namwamba also urged Kenyatta to waive debts facing tea, maize and cane farmers in Western Kenya, the way he had done to coffee farmers during his tour of Central Kenya.
This, he said, would ensure equity and fairness to all Kenyans. He reiterated that the Labour Party was not part of any coalition but was ready to work with like-minded individuals and partners.
He asked all Luhya presidential candidates such as Moses Wetangula, Cyrus Jirongo and Musalia Mudavadi to agree which one candidate they will all support.
