Candidates who will lose in Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) primaries have been urged to support winning candidates to strengthen the party.
Speaking on Monday in Kisii, ODM leader Raila Odinga said the move will allow the party increase its representation in both assemblies and parliament.
“I am urging all ODM aspirants to accept nominations results if defeated and support the winners. We have to strengthen our party in assemblies and parliament," Odinga said
“That is the democracy we want and it must be adhered to. Do not defect to opposing candidates. There is a lot we can do in the party," he said.
Odinga was accompanied by Kisii governor James Ongwae and several leaders allied to the Orange party in the region.
