Opposition leader Raila Odinga will 'die' politically should he contemplate supporting his daughter, Rosemary Odinga, for Kibra constituency seat, observes Eliud Owalo.
Owalo, a former aide to Odinga, is keen to dismantle incumbent Ken Okoth from a constituency where the opposition doyen served for over two decades.
On Saturday, Ms. Odinga formally announced her bid to contest for the seat, ending months of speculations among her competitors.
'The juvenile misplaced excitement and unparalleled sycophancy exhibited in Kibra constituency today in relation to imposed parliamentary candidature of Rosemary Odinga may turnout to be Odinga's Waterloo in quest for presidency," Owalo said.
He added: "Raila should chose between reclaiming the parliamentary seat through his daughter and presidency. Unfortunately, he will not get both at the same time."
Ms. Odinga told her supporters that she was ready to fit into her father's shoes in a rally that was attended by thousands of people.
Interestingly though, area MP Ken Okoth, a fierce defender of Odinga's, has remained mum over the matter.
