According to Mwangangi, if this is not done the absenteeism rates in schools will be very high and this will affect performance of the kids and their future.

Mwangangi was speaking at ABC Ngangani, Sunday. Some of the areas that are drought stricken in Yatta include Ikombe, Katangi, Kyua and parts of Mavoloni.

The national government last week allocated Sh16 billion to deal with effects of drought that are being felt across the country and expected to worsen after the rains failed.
