Kisii residents have been challenged to support street children by bearing in mind that not all who come to streets do so through their wish.

According to Jack Matara who is a policeman with his initiative Askari ni Rafiki has said that there is a talented street child who needs to be identified and given support.

Speaking at Gusii stadium on Tuesday during the International Street Children Day Matara said that the talents from street children needs to be identified.

“There are many talented Boys in the streets we need to identify and support them, by doing so we will help them since not all have come to the streets ou of their wish for instance today {Tuesday } we organised with other CBOsso that they can play football together, " said Matara.

"We have seen that many of them have talents which need to be identified and help them" added Matara.

He also appeals to stakeholders to come up with measures which will help them.

“We need to come with measures on how we can help these children more so during this occasions we need to support them not only in playing football but also have a better solution of helping them leave the streets,” added matara.
