Deputy President William Ruto has challenged Jubilee Party leaders from Nyamira County to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid ahead of the August elections.
Speaking on Monday when he met the leaders at his Karen residence, Ruto said that the region stands to benefit a lot from the Jubilee administration, stating that the opposition has no new agenda for Kenyans.
He noted that the administration had initiated key projects in the county, such as the education, health and energy sectors.
"We have increased connection of electricity from 15,000 people in Nyamira County in 2013done by four governments in 50 years to 45,000 people in less than four years," he said.
“In fact, the opposition cannot comprehend what we have done because they could not believe wecould do this is less than four years," he added.
The leaders who attended the meeting lauded the government's development record, affirming their support for the Jubilee Party during the August 8 elections.
Among those who attended the meeting were former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati, EALA member Joseph Kiangoi, aspiring women representatives Catherine Nyamato and Jerusha Momanyi.
