As political events continue to unfold in the country after the Raila-Uhuru handshake, supporters of the NASA leader are divided on whether to continue supporting him or move to alternatives.
A section of the die-hards still believe the 'Baba is always right' and that there is wisdom in his recent undertakings.
However, a large section of those who comment on his social media accounts argue that he betrayed their resolve for a better Kenya.
A Kibera resident and Raila Odinga supporter Deborah Auko has since written a moving letter to Raila:
"Your excellency Baba..
I inherited my love for you having grown up from the very model very poor Luo parents. My father believed in your father and the day you moved from FORD he moved with you. In our humble abode a photo of you always stood high on the wall more like how Jesus mans homes.
It was symbolic that you are the symbol of freedom. You deliver the trodden. I recall one time as a child we got auctioned and all our furniture bungled into a waiting mkokoteni. The only thing we left that shack with was your photo. Dad scrapped it ever so carefully from the wall so as not to tear and yes, it was the first thing we pasted on the wall of our next abode.
Dad was your model Kibera youth, always spending nights at Pangani after saba saba demos, Ouko demos, multi-party demos....
"What I am saying is you are a legacy to me.
For Luos, our parents die poor and we never inherit money. All we inherit is good brains, good looks and Raila Odinga. It's natural that I love you.
Baba, among your legacies are multi-partism, a new constitutional dispensation, strengthening of institutions and electoral reforms.
1. We are back to one-party state.
2. Nobody respects the constitution even just the basics of being a Kenyan by birth.
3. Institutions are at their weakest. Even Moi respected the judiciary.
4. Our vote still does not count.
What legacy should I remember you with baba? You have no legacy. You have erased everything by a single handshake. We still have a fight in us and are willing to fight for as long as it takes for the sake of our children, why have you joined the oppressor?
We are your new generation supporters. The difference between us and our fathers is we are critical thinkers. We are not accepting to use the same methods because evidently the result is the same. Our vote being stolen. We are ambitious to be the generation that stops election theft once and for all. Until your handshake.
I wish you a reflective easter Raila. The one thing that I always thank God is Dad died before seeing you win yet another election but not stand up to claim it. If cancer did not kill him, this handshake would."
