Four people have been arrested in Kendu Bay following violence that erupted during a political meeting held by supporters of Homa Bay governor Cyprian Awiti and his opponent Oyugi Magwanga.

County police commander John Omusanga confirmed the arrests.

Chaos broke out, Monday evening, after the rivalry groups clashed in Kendu Bay town.

One person was seriously injured on the head after he was hit by blunt objects.

He was rushed to Rachuonyo North Sub-county Hospital for medication while two other victims suffered minor injuries.

Awiti faulted his opponent of hiring goons to attack his supporters.

Howver, Magwanga blamed the police for not being partial and failing to arrest youths allied to the governor who were throwing stones at his rally.
