The Supreme Court of Kenya has ordered opposition leader Raila Odinga to respond to a suit that seeks to overturn the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in the August 8 elections.
Jackson Ndegwa and Edward Kings had filed a case seeking to have the Supreme Court's majority decision reversed, but the case was rejected.
One judge of the Supreme Court will hear the case after the two businessmen successfully filed an appeal on the suit.
Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court Daniel Ole Keiuwa directed the National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader and the Jubilee Party to file and serve replies by close of business on Monday before a date is set for hearing.
Mr. Ndegwa and Mr. Kings want the Chief Justice David Maraga led court’s ruling overturned on grounds that it was erroneous.
The duo argues that the Sh12 billion set aside for the fresh poll will negatively affect Kenya’s economy.
