Supreme Court judge Isaac Lenaola has written to State House communication official Dennis Itumbi, asking for an apology within three days. The judge, though lawyer Donald Kipkorir, accuses Itumbi of spreading falsehoods through a social media hashtag #WakoraNetwork, which the State House Digital Director for Diaspora allegedly started. Though the Twitter and Facebook hashtag, Itumbi accused the Supreme Court judge of being corrupt, partial, breaching code of ethics and delegating his duties to outsiders. “Our client’s hitherto solid professional and legal profession has been injured and has been brought into public scandal, odium and contempt,” Lenaola’s advocates write in a letter to Itumbi. Itumbi had accused the judge, who was part of the Supreme Court decision to nullify President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in last month’s general election. “We wait for your response within three days,” lawyer Kipkorir writes.
