Supreme court judge Mrs Njonki Ndugu is expected to appear before the Supreme court as a key witness in a case against the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The case Ndung'u is expected to be questioned on is an incident in where top court officials wrote a letter to the JSC in 2016.
The letter by the judges from the highest court in the land was questioning why Justice Philip Tonui was instructed to stop sitting pending the determination of a court case challenging the retirement age of judges.
The orders to summon Ndung'u were secured by Nairobi LSK chairman Mr Charles Kanjama, despite Ndung'u's objection, she will now face High court judge Chacha Mwita.
"Some of the critical things are the independence of judges, the illegality of the JSC to attempt to suspend a judge from his or her judicial work, the illegality of the JSC to interfere with the day-to-day work of the judiciary among others," he said.
