Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi has surprised many by appointing his predecessor's deputy, Abdihadif Abdullahi, as an executive.

He is going to head the water docket.

This comes at a time when the Governor's victory is being challenged at Milimani Law courts.

This has been seen by many as a  running-mate' s support.

Speaking at a press conference, Abdi said that in nominating executives he considered requirements of the constitution, diversity, gender, clan, skills, origin and experience.

He retained four out of nine executives.

"Like any other resident of Wajir, those who deserve a chance should be allowed to serve despite different political affiliations," he said.

Sources said that the governor fear is for those unhappy voters denying President Kenyatta their votes in the repeat polls.
