Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is among leaders tipped to be included in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet, reports the Sunday Nation.

With Uhuru sworn in for his last term, the Nation reports, a section of Mt. Kenya leaders are pushing for Kabogo’s inclusion arguing that he will help serve their interests.

“Those behind the game plan feel that Kabogo is brave and could handle Deputy President William Ruto to ensure Central Kenya’s interests are well taken care off.”

In the past, Kabogo has been at loggerheads with the DP and is on record for blaming the country’s second in command for allegedly plotting his downfall.

But with the region possible struggle to find Uhuru’s replacement, a section of Mt. Kenya leaders feel Kabogo should be included in the Jubilee government to maintain political relevance.

“He should be given a powerful ministerial position so that his political relevance remains intact. He is a mobiliser and we shall ensure he is included in the list of appointees,” a source told the Nation.

Although in is not clear whether or not Kabogo will make it, however, it is certain that Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri may survive Uhuru’s pending axe.
