Table salt mainly known as sodium chloride is used to make meals taste good and sweet. But it can be used for other purposes such as;
Test the freshness of eggs
Put an egg in a bowl of salt water, if it sinks the egg is fresh and if it floats it is a bad one.

Soak your candle in a concentrated salt solution overnight. Then, once the candle thoroughly dried out, light it. It will not drip anymore.
Cleans your iron
Irons can get grubby at times. One sure way is to turn yours on to its highest setting and run it over a piece of brown paper covered in salt
Cleans sink
Make a paste with lemon juice and salt and use it to wipe your sink.
Grease cleaner
Sprinkle a layer of salt on the inside of the pan, then add some water and let it sit for about ten minutes. Then use a sponge to clean it and the grease should come off easily.
Keep ants away
To keep ants from infesting your house and garden, make a salt solution and pour it into a spray bottle. Spray where you like to prevent them.
Reliefs mosquito bites
To mitigate the redness and itchiness, dip your finger in some water and use the moisture to stick a little salt to your finger. Now rub the mixture over your bite.
Deodorize your sneakers
Sneakers and canvas shoes can get smelly, especially if you wear them without socks in the summertime. Sprinkling a little salt on your shoes can get rid of the bad smell.
