Samuel Buku Macharia was on Wednesday arraigned in a Kilifi Court for his alleged involvement in the theft of more than Sh51million county funds.
Macharia and Stephen Mutua Ngunzi, are accused of conspiring to commit a crime and handling stolen money belonging to the county government.
They are accused of having conspired with others who did not appear before the court, to steal more than Sh6million belonging to the Kilifi County government.
The money was fraudulently deposited into Kilingi Investment Company Ltd.’s account at Consolidated Bank, Umoja Branch in Nairobi.
His case is set to be heard on January 18, 2017.
