A Nakuru court has denied a suspect accused of sodomizing an 8-year-old boy bond due to safety concerns.

The suspect Benson Omungala on Thursday appearing before Nakuru principal magistrate Joe Omido denied committing the crime on September 4 at Kanyoni village in Nakuru county.

Magistrate Omido directed that the accused Benson Omungala be remanded in  police custody until his security is guaranteed.  

Omido noted that cases of rape and sodomize have been on the rise in Nakuru.

He warned those committing or planning the offence if found guilty will face jailed.
