A Mombasa Law Court has ordered the suspect believed to be behind the death of model Janet Asunah to be remanded for seven days.
This comes after the Criminal Investigating Officer Duncan Amoyo, asked Mombasa Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Rabera to grant him more time to complete his investigations.
"Owing to the wide investigation needed in the case to piece information together, I need more time to interrogate the suspect, record statements as well as get help from the governments chemist chief DNA experts. They have to carry out a DNA test on the suspect,” said Amoyo.
"We will mainly rely on the DNA results to charge the suspect,” he added.
The suspect, Habimana Ouko, was arrested three days after the murder of the model.
Asunah was found dead in her house on Tuesday evening. Her body was taken to Pandya Hospital Morgue in Mombasa.
The suspect is set to appear in court on Monday next week where he will be charged.
