One of the suspects in the Qarsa attack, Wajir county where three people were killed by Al-Shabaab militants has been arrested.
North Eastern regional commissioner Mohamud Saleh said that a team of multi-agency security involved in the operation to track down the suspects is narrowing in on the others still on the run.
Speaking on Tuesday at Garissa government guest house when he opened a 5 days training workshop for chiefs and their assistants, Saleh said that the security apparatus are determined to ensuring that they arrest all who were involved in the heinous killing of innocent Kenyans.
Meanwhile, Security in Wajir County has been intensified after the government deployed one hundred National Police Reservists (NPR).
Wajir County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara said the police reservists have been deployed along the border of Wajir East and Tarbaj sub-Counties in a bid to boost security.
Mr Kibaara said the officers will provide security to schools in the county following last week’s terror attack at a Wajir primary school.
“Earlier today, we deployed 100 well-armed national police reservists to the border areas along Wajir East and Tarbaj sub-Counties in a bid to boost security,” the county commissioner said on Monday.
