Kangundo Law Courts has jailed a suspect involved in the late professor Stephen Nzuve's murder for two years without fine.
The accused Dominic Mutinda was arrested in possession of stolen properties at Huruma in Nairobi County.
Mutinda appeared before senior principal magistrate Desderius Orimba on Thursday.
Ten witnesses testified in the case among them, the deceased's widow Rose Musembi.
In his mitigation, the accused asked the court to consider the three years he has been in custody since December 2015.
The court considered his mitigation and his lack of past criminal records and awarded him two years in jail.
The accused was given 14 days to appeal the ruling.
This comes two days after another suspect involved in the late don's murder was acquitted by the same court for lack of enough evidence.
Two suspects have so far been acquitted by the court.
A key suspect in the murder, Ronald Ngala, was gunned down by police on Mombasa Road in 2016.
However, the deceased's family protested the ruling claiming justice wasn't served.
