Three Nyumba Kumi officials were earlier today shot dead today in Bongwa Village, Kwale County.
The three were killed in their homes by suspected Al-Shabaab returnees.
Residents of the area believe that the murderous gang is led by a woman.
Top security Coastal leaders including Nelson Marwa who is the regional coordinator and Kwale County governor, Salim Mvurya visited the families of the deceased to offer their condolences.
Marwa said investigations will begin soon to find out who exactly murdered the officials and the motive behind it as well as lead a crackdown that will help catch those behind the killings.
The killings come just three weeks after a reformed Al-Shabaab returnee was shot dead in his home in Shamu, Kwale County.
