[Police van. A suspected cattle thief was on Monday burnt to death in Moromba village Manga, Nyamira county. Photo/Standard] A middle aged man suspected to be a cattle rustler was on Monday evening lynched by an angry mob in Moromba village, Manga, Nyamira County.
Residents claimed the man is among the gang that has been terrorizing, attacking and robbing from them.
Angry residents descended on the suspect with kicks and blows before they set him ablaze.
Area police boss James Musyimi confirmed the incident adding that police recovered two stolen cows.
Further, Musyimi warned locals against violating the law, insisting that such suspects should be subjected to criminal prosecution.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in the neighboring Kisii County.
